Hi ladies-
I'm not sure this is the best place to post this thread but I was just reading CNN.com and saw an article headline about Lily Allen losing a baby. It was not a BO since she was farther along but in the article it mentions that this is not her first loss. I also came across an article several weeks ago about Kelsey Grammar's girlfriend having a miscarriage too. I know it doesn't make our pain go away to hear about anyone having a loss, but I just thought that it was comforting to know that pregnancy loss is not as taboo a subject as it once was and I think that is a testament to women like those here and on other support group sites who have refused to grieve and suffer alone. And as celebrities continue to talk about pregnancy losses in the media, I hope that the attitude of those people around us who haven't had this experience and therefore don't always say the right thing when we share our news, will change as they recognize that it could happen to anyone.
Hugs to you all, Marisa

Giuliana Rancic from E! News also had a miscarriage, and they have been addressing it on their reality show "Giuliana and Bill" on the Style Network. The show last night was heart-wrenching, but it was definitely an honest depiction of what people go through after miscarriage. It was especially good to hear her husband talk about how he was dealing with it, and to see him supporting her through it the best he could.

Thanks KC. I'm sure it was hard to watch but I hope it made an impression on lots of people. I remember Bill from The Bachelor.

I have been watching Giuliana and Bill since I heard the news about her miscarriage. The one where they showed them getting the news, was heartbreaking. I lost my last baby at 8 weeks and the similarities were uncanny. I cried, HARD...I really feel for these women, as we all surely do.
HUGS

Another celebrity, Lisa Ling of The View announced this week that she had a miscarriage earlier this year. From her story, it sounds like a BO (no heartbeat detected at 7 week u/s). But, the thing that I think is really cool is that she started a website called Secret Society of Women www.secretsocietyofwomen.com. It is a place for women to share, anonymously, their "secret" thoughts about pretty much any topic from body image to TTCing to addiction. I briefly looked at the pregnancy section and all the topics were about miscarriages and fear about TTCing. It seems like another good resource so I wanted to share it.
