I had a chemical right before Thanksgiving of 09. I got pregnant the next month and found out at my 8 week u/s I had a BO. I had a d & c on Friday 1/22. Needless to say I am devastated. Do you think this it bad luck or should I get some genetic testing? I know both are most likely d/t chromosomal abnormalities. I am sooo worried that it is going to happen again. Any advice would be appreciated!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could tell you what to do but for each of us the journey is different. I also had a BO and a chemical pregnancy and just delivered a healthy baby boy. Unfortunately most of us never find out why it happened. As for worrying that it will happen again that is normal too my advice would be just let yourself feel what you feel and one day it won't hurt quite so much. We are here anytime you need to "talk". (((hugs)))

Hello, I just learned (at almost 11 weeks) that I had a blighted ovum on 1/17 - so we're sort of in the same boat here.... I'm not sure if you need to have any testing done, as I'm certainly no expert in this subject. But I do know that many people have told me that they have had a BO, and then went on to have perfectly healthy babies. Are you going to try again? I am - lets hope that we can both get pregnant again soon and have very healthy babies! (I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us).
