I had my D&C last Monday the 21st. It's been almost a week and I'm still having a lot of pain. Is this normal? How did everyone else do with this? I go back to see my Dr. tomorrow. So I just was wondering???

I do not remember having any pain after my D&C so I don't know whether it is normal to have alot of pain or not. Hopefully you feel better soon.

I had very little pain for about 2-3 days after my D&C but nothing that the medication didn't help. You should check with your doc just to make sure. Take care.

Are you cramping or a different kind of pain? I had quite a bit of cramping and bleeding after my D&C. It lasted for about a week.

I have had 3 D&Cs and had a lot of cramping (quite severe) with the first, and no pain with the 2nd and 3rd. Did you have general anesthesia, or just "twilight". My first I was not all the way out, and that is the one I had cramping with.... as far as I know, that was the only difference. You should probably call your doctor, if you are concerned. Also, I know it made a huge difference if I over-exerted myself.... especially heavy lifting, so take it easy. Hope you feel better soon. -Lauren

I took prescription strength IB profen for 48 hours and then regular IB profen the next day and then I didn't need anything. I would call your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I went to the doctors yesterday and had a check up about the pain I'm having. I have an infection going on, my muscles around my uterus are are way to tight and my uterus is still really soft. My Dr. put me on antibiotics and told me to take it really easy so that hopefully that muscle will relax. If by chance it doesn't then I will have to go to a specialist for it. So hopefully I will start to feel better soon. I really want to be done with all of this. It was hard enough and now its been a week since the D&C and I'm going through all this. It feels like it's just one thing after another!!

I am sorry you have to go through all this on top of what you have already been through. Hopefully the antibiotics start working soon. Keep us updated on how you are doing.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. The last thing anyone needs after the emotional roller coaster is this. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know it does not feel like it now, but it will get easier. Good luck on the meds and I hope you start to physically recover. Ugh. My stomach is just in knots for you right now.
So many good thoughts coming your way, Jami

Thank you for all your support!! It is just so stressful right now and with the holidays it just adds more. Oh and on top of all that my daughters 5th birthday is new years day, so more stress!! The meds are starting to work and I'm feeling a bit better but bleeding now. I think I'm starting a normal cycle.

I really feel like this is never going to end!! I finally felt better after getting on antibiotics, but only for about a day and a half. I do feel better than I did before them however, I'm still having pain. I can usually stand pain pretty well but this is awful!! I still can't do anything. If I try to do housework I start hurting really bad. If I even go to the store for a few groceries them I'm down for along time after it. I go back to the doctors again this Wednesday. So I hope something will give. This whole process for me is taking forever and I just wish it would end so that I can finally move on!!!

I hope you find some ansewers on wednesday. After my D&C it really was like mild period pain except when i went to pass urine and that was excruciating for the first week and then settled. Look after yourself and maybe ask for some extre help around the house until the pain subsides. x

Marrie.. I do know how you feel!!! It took a long while to recover from my d&c!!! First the infection and then my muscles!! After the antibiotics and muscle relaxers I finally started to feel better. There is hope though!! I had my D&C on Dec. 21st 09. I had my first normal cycle on Jan 18th and by Feb. 14th I had a BFP!!! As of right now I am 7-8 weeks along again and this time there is a baby and a heart beat!!! So it does take time, but it does get easier... Good luck and hope you start feeling better!!!!
