I am currently going through my 2nd consecutive miscarriage classified as a Blighted Ovum.
I have a healthy 2 year old boy, and had no complications during the pregnancy. During the pregnancy the doctor diagnosed me with Sever Dysplasia, so after my son was born I had to have the LEEP procedure. A year ago we started trying again. I got pregnant twice this year and started bleeding around 7/8 weeks with both. I'm wondering if the LEEP procedure has anything to do with the failing pregnancies? For any of you that have had consecutive BO's in a row, what did your doctor do? Did they test you for anything? What did you find out? My doctor said I have to have 4 BO's in a row for them to do any testing. I do not want to go through this 4 times!

I am so sorry for your losses. I wish I could give you answers but unfortunately for most of us we never get them. I still don't know why I lost my babies. Some of the other ladies may be able to give you more advice. I am not sure where you are but my first instinct is to tell you to find another Dr. that can be more supportive of your losses. There are simple blood tests they can do to eliminate some of the causes of m/c. Take care of yourself. We are here if you need to vent.

I agree that i would be finding a different dr. He sounds a little insensitive to say the least. I don't know much about the procedure you had but maybe some of the other ladies may be able to help.
I am so sorry that you had to find us and for your two losses. We are here when you need us. (((HUGS))) x

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand so well the heartache it causes. I've had several LEEPS and two losses, but the LEEPS had nothing to do with the losses. It may cause a weakened cervix which may cause cervical incompetnance later in a pg, but won't cause a loss this early. I agree about finding another dr. When dealing with losses you need a medical professional who's on your side and doesn't just blow you off. I've also never heard of waiting for 4 losses in a row. General rule of thumb is 3, but I know there are ladies here who have had testing after 2 losses (and not necessarily consecutively).
Big hugs, Alexa

The doctor I saw was actually not my doctor. My doctor has been on vacation and she is now back and said she will have the blood work done. Who knew doctors could be so different? Right now I'm waiting for blood work results to see where my HCG level is. I'm hoping its low, so I won't have to have another DnC. That's good to know the LEEP doesn't have anything to do with it.
When they do the blood tests what are they looking for?

I'm so sorry for your losses. I have recently had 2 B/O's and was given great advice from a friend - we are our bellies only advocate. I fought to have testing done after my second and won. Prepare yourself, though. I was told they rarely find any answers with the testing which was true with mine. Nothing was detected, but I forced myself through the door (literally) of a high risk doctor in our area that is fantastic. He told me to take my prenate vitamin, a baby aspirin (81 mg), and an extra folic acid pill (400 mcg) each day and that would insure I was "dotting my i's and crossing my t's" even though my blood work all came back fine. My husband and I have no children and are on our third pregnancy. I became fed up with the doctors telling me to just keep trying but not giving answers. I have no clue what will happen with this pregnancy (only in my 7th week) but at least I know I am doing something each day which makes me feel better. I hope this information helps you. Good luck with your blood results. My dad recently laughed and said I'm the only person he knows that cried when my blood came back normal and prays each morning that I'll throw up with morning sickness. We are our only advocate and it is our right to fight for these babies - even when the outcome isn't great. Good luck and know that we are all here for you to help in any way. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Jami

I am sorry for your losses. Doctors can be so insensitive when it comes to m/c's. Take care.
