Jen, I think thats what I took. It was 2 tablets vaginally every 4 hours until I took a total of 8. Within an hour I started to bleed although not much. It picked up as time passed though. I felt great "most" of the time. The couple of hours before I passed the tissue were more uncomfortable to me. Sort of reminded me of labor..... I was over 13 weeks and didn't really have the best experience with it. I was given prescription Ibuprophen & a pain killer and a pill to help control bleeding....which I don't think really did help. From start to finish it was about 22 hours and the bleeding stopped as soon as I passed everything. Although it came back off and on for a couple of weeks. I have read other postings from people that didn't have any trouble with it and I think thats the majority. I will be hoping the very best for you and that everything goes well.
Take Care!

I also took mistoprostol for my m/c, although it did end up being an incomplete m/c and I needed an emergency D&C a week later. FOr me, the cramping/contractions were pretty bad for about 8 hours. I did need to take the Vicodin to get through them. Hope everything goes ok. I'll be thinking of you! Stacy

well i took the med at 2:30 pm and it didn't really get going until about 9:30 pm. it started with a sneeze (try to avoid that if you ever find yourself in this situation ) It got really bad, but it was over by 3:00 am. Today I'm just really weak, and very dizzy. My doc said to say in bed and rest and not to go back to work until Monday. Overall, it was a positive experience, i now wish i would have done it a week ago, because as hard as it was on my body, it's now over! I thank that once I get back to work, it will be even better. Thank you all so much for your love and support I don't know what i would have done without you. I'm going back to bed now. talk to you all in a couple of days.

I was feel ing fine after the induced miscarriage, but today I started to have cramps that I sware were just like labor contractions. The would start get extreemely intence and then would subside for a couple of minutes and start again. but i wasn't bleeding worse than a normal period The doctor says that I may not have passed everything, he wants me to get blood work once early next week and once again the week after that. as long as my levels go down i'll be okay. I'm taking 800 mg of ibruprofin every 6 hours. I am okay at the momment I pray those cramps don't come back. jen

:-/When will this GO AWAY!!!!!!! I am still having cramps that I can feel through 800 mg of Advil. They woke me up thismorning because I didn't get up to take the meds at 3am. Now I'm having weird baby dreams, and I just feel useless and as if I have no purpose. My poor husband, he is trying so hard. His mom tries to explain but I think he's fed up (spending a lot of time at the gym) I hope this is the hormones and that I'll bounce back soon. I'm supposed to go back to work in monday, maybe that will help. as long as I'm not in a lot of pain. sorry for the rambling. jen[/glow]

Jen, I'm really not sure why your still having pain. Once I passed everything I didn't have anymore pain although before I passed everything I did have labor like cramping! I was completely miserable. I'm sorry that this is happening to you! I can relate to feeling useless because I sure did feel that way! I was really upset about EVERYTHING!!!! I think your husband needs to understand what you've just been through.....and hopefully he's not adding to your stress by being at the gym a lot! Although maybe thats his way of dealing with everything that has happened. Let us know what you find out from your blood work! I really hope that there isn't anything that hasn't passed thats going to keep you in misery until these blood tests are completed! I'll be thinking of you and praying that this will end soon for you!
Take Care!

I hope your body gets back to feeling better.I am sorry that you have to go through this.I took methergine to clean me after my b/o and it made me have bad after birth contractions. The pain medicine helped but like 30 minutes later! I slept a lot while on the pain killer.I went into depression after my B/O.I couldn't do much but sit in my recliner and I took care of my son but I couldn't do any chores or anything.I just felt dead inside. It took me quite awhile to come out of the depression.I did it though. I hope you will feel better. It takes time.

I would definately follow-up with your OB ASAP on Monday. Insist that they do another u/s to see if you have any retained placenta. What you are describing sounds just like what happened to me after I "thought" I had m/c'd completely. Unfortunately a week later I started hemorraging while I was at the YMCA and had to have an emergency D&C. I am not trying to scare you, but you should really get it checked out. I kept thinking that the cramps were normal, but they really aren't--get it checked.

As it is now My Doctor thinks I'm part of his family I call all the time. We talk two r 3 times a day he's very supportive. He told me in advance of passing this last pit of material that I may need to pass more. I haven't had any more contraction like cramps, but I do have camps, (worst day of your period cramps) I guess from what I've read this is pretty normal. The ultra sound is a good idea, I want to do that. I'll keep you posted. jen

I would definitely have a follow up w/ hcg levels and an u/s. That is what was done on me to make sure everything was ok in order for me to start ttc.
I am sorry this has been physically hard as well as all the emotional. As far as your dh... They deal with things a lot differently than we do. I hope the two of you can talk and get closer through all of this.
Take care (((((hugs)))))

Hi guys I just wanted to give you an update, I think that I'm finally on the upswing!!! Sunday evening I passed another peice of material, but then them abdominal pain was different they were no longer cramps, more like muscle fatigue. I have not had to use pain meds since that time either. I went back to work on monday, that was the best thing I could have done. The morning was rough but as the day went on I started feeling better. I feel 90% now. I went for an Hcg test today and have to go back next week for another. I'll keep you all posted.
