Ok, this may sound silly, but I am a little worried because my bleeding has almost completely stopped @ 24 hours after the m/c started yesterday. It has been light enough for a panty-liner only for the last few hours. I have heard so many bad stories about the bleeding lasting for days and weeks that I start to think something is wrong! Don't get me wrong, the bleeding was very, very heavy last night for about 8 hours(basically had to just sit on the toilet most of that time). I am expecting that the bleeding will pick up again here in the near future??
Anyone with any experience or insight?? I really don't want to call the on-call OB for such a "non-problem"!! Stacy

Stacy, I took medication to induce mc and bled a lot until i passed the "products of conception" and then the bleeding stopped completely. It would then come back off and on but remained very light for a couple of weeks. Hope this helps.
Take care!

Stacy
I m/c naturally and the 1st day I spotted. The 2nd day started spotting but turned heavy like yours and that was like a heavy period w/ clots. My next few days were really really light and all I needed was a pantyliner. And thn that was it. I started spotting friday and was done by Weds. I did go back in after my m/c for hcg levels and a followup u/s. Everything was clear and good to go.
I think each person's body is different and that is why my dr wanted me to follow up w/ the u/s to make sure everything was gone so that there was less chance for infection and other problems when ttc.
Take care

It's my understanding that they should always check to be sure all is gone, sometimes there are incomplete miscarriages (I miscarried both naturally and had a D and C with that diagnosis). It's probably fine, but it's a good idea to know for sure since there can be problems later if everything is not expelled.
