I got a D&C on monday. It's thursday night and i'm still getting craps. They aren't terribly painful but they are there. Also, when i'm just about to empty my bladder it cramps something terrible. I don't really want to call the doctor unless there's something to call about. Am I just overly sensitive or should I be concerned. Thanks for any help.

Hello and welcome,
I am very sorry you have to be here, and so sorry for your loss. I am not familiar with what happens after a D&C...I had a D&E after each of my losses...but if you are uncomfortable in any way I urge you to call your Dr. I know after my first D&E I was very uncomfortable and they did a pelvic u/s to rule out anything. So just for peace of mind I would call this a.m.
Big HUGS I read your intro. We have all been down that road, hearing those horrible words "non viable" pregnancy, some of us twice or three times unfortunately. We are here to help.
HUGS

I am so sorry that you have had a need to find us. I went through the same way of finding out in the ER after spotting & bleeding.
As far as after a d&c I do not know. I m/c naturally (Not that there is anything nartural about it) I think that I would call your dr. I would rather have an eased mind than wondering if I was ok or not. Plus generally the sooner you call if there is a problem the sooner you can take care of it.
Please know that you are in a place where we have all been through this. Take care. ((((((((hugs))))))))))

Jen:
I had little to no pain after my d&c and I even took methergine, which I think can increase the cramping. Are you bleeding an excessive amount? It can be different for everyone. I would at the very least, call your doc. He/she may say it is normal, but be able to give you something to make you more comfortable. I can tell you I was amazed that I bled for nearly a whole month after my d&c! ((hugs))

Jen, I had a D & C on July 5 and I didn't have bad cramps (or even uncomfortable cramps) after but I did have pain before and during urination. Kind of like a small, sharp, pressure pain that makes you think, "Geez, I should have come to the bathroom earlier." It did go away but if you are at all uncomfortable with something, call your doc. They might say, like mine did, that your uterus isn't contracting and prescribe methergine (see Nancy's post). It is supposed to make it contract quicker but there are cramps associated with taking it. Good luck and I'm very sorry for your loss, ~Thurese

I also had a bit of pain during urination but just for the first day, and for about a week I had what would best be described as a "raw" feeling where I had to sit down carefully. Other than that I had no cramping or any real pain at all. I think you should call your Dr., it's probably fine but good to know for sure.
***hugs**** I'm sorry you are having a hard time, it's bad enough to have needed one. I hope you are better soon.

i opted for the natural miscarriage. I think I passed most of it wensday night. I'm starting to ease up on the bleeding but still am there. If i'm not done by next friday i'm going to get a dc done. Sorry you have to find us.
I would call your doc though.. like they said.. at least with an eased mind you feel better and can start moving forward..... and start trying again... an eased mind would be better... you've already been through enough =( we love you though =p

Thank you so much for all your kind words.
I did call the doctor and he said everything is probably alright but if I was worried to come in on Monday. The pain isn’t that bad, it was the pain after urination that was bothersome. Apparently, that’s normal.

Keep us posted, I'll bet in a few days things are much better. For me at this point I was starting to feel like I had some of the closure that I really needed and I was starting towards a road where I could ttc. However you decide to approach the next chapter, I promise things are going to start to get better soon.
