Hi all, I think I may be dealing with a b/o. I went in last week due to spotting. I thought I was 5 weeks 5 days but I measured 5 weeks 1 day. They cold only find the sac but nothing else. They said the sac was empty....but didn't look totally empty to me. I'll attch a pic so you can see it - please tell me what you think. My numbers HCG came back at 3516 (26dpo) 13 days earlier they were 112. They are doubling at a speed of 2.61 days. (is that good?) My progesterone very low - so I immediately put myself on supplements (doctor does not believe in progesterone being a problem in pregnancy). I don't seem to feel as pregnant - only at night. My main concern is that this being my fifth pregnancy - usually by now I have a "little pooch" already starting - and now nothing. Is this a symptom of no uterine growth perhaps??? Once I started the progesterone supplements, the spotting stopped. So I might be just prolonging the inevitable - if that is indeed what is going to happen. I have read that brown staining is indicative of a b/o - but mine has been very light pink. Please, any info you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated. I go tomorrow for my follow-up ultrasound. Thank you for your time.... Claudia Below is my ultrasound taken at what I thought to be 5 weeks 5 days - but measured 5 weeks 1 day. Does it look like a b/o to you?

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this I'll let other gals here speak to you about levels, it's something I don't know anything about but there are others here who do. I can say is it is pretty early for them to know for sure if it is a blighted ovum. Sometimes a baby will not be found and then seen later when it's diagnosed early. A baby should definately be seen by 8 weeks, and there is always an issue of whether or not the pregnancy is dated correctly. It is possible (provided everything else is ok) that the baby is there and not being seen at 5 weeks. I've seen some people be diagnosed and then have the baby be found a week or two later because it was a little early. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} I wish I could help more but I know there are some here who will be able to give you more input than I can. Welcome Claudia. As far as HCG they should be doubling every 48 - 72 hours until they reach 1200. Then 72 96 hours up until 6000. After 6000 over 96. The website I get that from is: www.ivfer.com/hcg.htmAs far as spotting. Mine started pink but did turn to more of a brown. I hope that you get great news with your ultrasound tomorrow. As far as symptoms some people do not get any symptoms until 7 weeks. Please let us know if we can give you any other information and keep us posted on how you are doing. Take care

Hi Claudia,
First of all HUGS, I am sorry you are going through this troubling time. I just want to comment that it is hard to tell if there is a yolk sac or embryo in your placenta. But I do see something. Did you have another u/s? Please drop by and let us know what you find out. I am worried for you.
HUGS
Kris

Claudia,
I am so sorry for the rollercoaster ride that you now on and hope by now you have some more info at hand and that everything is OK. Sadly I am experiencing similar. I will say that if you thought you were 5 w 5 days and you measured 5w 1 day then as per my specialist stated at our U/S that if there was only a difference of a few days then he would schedule another U/S and check again....this is your case so I definately think there is real hope!!!
Please let us know hoe you get on...you are in our thoughts!

sorry it took me so long to post! We went Tuesday for a scan and we found a HEARTBEAT!!!! Everything looks great so far -- it seems that the spotting was caused by the low progesterone - but now I'm 200 mg. of prometrium each night - and the spotting stopped almost immediately. :-)
Keep the prayers coming, please. They help me tremendously.
God Bless all of you!
Claudia

Claudia,
It is so wonderful to hear that there are a few of you ladies out there getting that news we all hope or hoped to hear! I am sorry for the scare that you were given at your 1st U/S... it doesn't seem right to me that techs and docs are so quick to jump to the B/O non viable pregnancy diagnosis! After reading yours and Jenny's outcomes, I feel much better, it's helping me to heal hearing the positive stories like yours! Congratulations! Stephanie
