1. Name, area you are from--My name is Lindy and I'm from Montana 2. A little about your situation, family-- I married dh in October 1999. We found ourselves pregnant a little less than a year later and felt excited, my blighted ovum was diagnosed in 2000 at 11w3d. I was really surprised, had never heard of the diagnosis at all. Everything seemed to be going really well. At my 9 week appointment they said there was no concern about not hearing the h/b because it was early. I started cramping at 11w and and u/s gave me the worst news I'd ever encountered. I had an incomplete miscarriage and ended up having to have a D and C. I started the blighted ovum website about 3 months later with all the information I had gathered. It was located on tripod, which then somehow out of the blue erased my entire website. I rebuilt it on geocities and eventually moved it to my own domain. I went on to have 2 children, a boy and a girl. I will always remember my little angel though, and all those dreams I had for him or her. I've had a lot of postive feedback from the website, and I'm glad something positive came from something so dark and so sad. 3. Age -- 37, and feeling ancient anymore! 4. Pet Peeves-- people who smoke outside of buildings and make me walk past them. 5. Favorite ice cream-- Cookies and Cream 6. Favorite Vacation Spot -- Las Vegas, baby!

1. Melinda (most call me pancho though).. from TEXAS (but live in georgia now.
2. Last February, I found out I was PG and rushed a wedding in a week to be married on Valentine's day. 2 weeks later I found out I had a BO. A week later, when the diagnosis was confirmed, I had a D&C. During all of this I also found out I have severe endometriosis. I've had 2 surgeries to remove it, but the pain now is daily (horrible during ovulation time). We are still childless.. and will probably never have one (although we are still trying!). This year was really really hard on me and I miss my baby EVERY SINGLE DAY! I had many episodes of crying in public and hiding from the world. I don't know how I would have survived without the wonderful ladies here. I am still sad about losing the baby.. but comforted to know that I am not the only one struggling.
3. Age 35 EEKKK! It hurts to write that some days!
4. Pet Peeves. Hmmm toughy.. I'll have to get back on this one!
5. Favorite ice cream.. Rocky Road (bluebell, of course!)
6. Favorite vacation spot.. Riverwalk.. in san antonio. Great music.. great mexican food.. and fresh shiner bock!

1. My name is Lauren and I am from New York City. 2. I had been trying to get pregnant for a year (after low progesterone and acidity problems and my dh had varicoceles surgery to improve sperm morphology) and in November got pregnant by IUI. We were thrilled. Thought all our problems were solved. At our 7 week sonogram I was diagnosed with a bo on December 22, 2004. I had a D & C on December 23rd. Since then I have been diagnosed as having Natural Killer Cells and will probably have to have an IV for several days each month when I get pregnant again. We have not started trying again, but are hoping to get the green light soon! 3. I will be 35 in April....UGH! 4. I have lots!!!! 5. Mint Chip 6. Anywhere.... I love vacation!

1. My name is Michelle, and I live in Staten Island, New York
2. I currently live with my dh, and my 13 wk old little angel Francesca. I have had so much happen to me in the past 2 yrs. I was 22wks pg when I lost my dd Julianna back in May 2003, then my dh and I went to Italy for a month. I came home in Oct 2003 and found out I was pg and in Nov 2003 at 8wks I was diagnosed with a BO. I mc naturally, but needed to have a d&c in January 2004. I got pg in March 2004,and cause I was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix I had to have a cerclage placed in at 12wks pg. I had my little Francesca on Nov 30,2004. So my motto is- Never give up on your dreams of having a baby - my prayers and all my dreams were answered.
3. I am 35 years old
4. Pet Peeves: I hate Liars, people who smoke, and people who keep repeating themselves a million times.
5. I love chocolate,vanilla,strawberry and Pistacchio

Maybe some of the new members would like to add their info. We didn't have a lot of luck the 1st time but maybe now. Also there are a lot of people that haven't said anything in a long time, are you doing ok? Just update on myself. Today is a good day. I am feeling particularly good except for some heartburn.
Take care Kallie

1. My name is Malissa and I live in Nebraska 2. I married my dh in Oct. 1994. We decided to wat a while to have children, but once we decided it seemed like all we had to do was think about it. The first time (and only time) I heard the term blighted ovum was in Nov. of 1996 with my first pregnancy, there was no heartbeat on the u/s and they checked BHCG 2 times and they went up, but didn't double in those 2 days and so the doctor told me to come in for a second ultrasound the next week, but that I would probably miscarry. So for 6 days I was on that emotional roller coaster and when we had the u/s we saw a little heartbeat, that little "blighted ovum" will be 7 in July. The next pregnancy wasn't quick to come but after 8 months of trying we finally were pregnant, the pregnancy was great and he is a beautiful 3 year old. Then in December 2002 we were expecting again, this ended on Feb. 8, 2003. They never told me that this was a blighted ovum and I'm waiting for my records to be sent. I was about 7 weeks when they told me that I would m/c and went 2-3 weeks before I did. I do know that there was never a heartbeat detected on vag. u/s. the next miscarriage occurred on July 14, 2004, it happened very early in the pregnancy. Then in Dec. 2004 I began bleeding and the u/s showed a sack, but no detectable fetal tissue. This was the first time I did not m/c naturally and I had a d&c on 12-23. I found out on April 8th that I was pregnant again and had my u/s yesterday, there is a sack that measures 6 weeks and no baby. My BHCG is 20,500 and will be repeated tomorrow and I will have another u/s nest tues. (sorry my story got so long) 3. I just turned 33 4. pet peeves- lying 5. My favorite way to eat ice cream is a butterfinger or cheescake Blizzard from Dairy Queen. 6. none

Stephanie, 28 yrs old
Location: Daytona Beach, FL
Situation: Annoying. I've had 2 U/S neither of which showed embryo. Per my LMP I should be 10 wk 0 day TODAY. I had blood drawn Friday and my hcg was 45000, apparently prettty good from what nurse tells me. Had more blood drawn today, we'll see. Tomorrow another U/S and hopefully some answers to this Human Pin Cushion Hell.... I've read several postings referring to the experience as "an emotional roller coaster" which in my opinion is saying it nicely. I'm okay with the results either way, just want to know. I have an 18 month old son, a hubby, a job, and 2 very stupid dogs to help keep my mind off of it, good or bad. So glad to hear other ladies' stories though. Seems like very few of my friends have gone through this before, at least not for the length of time as I have. Going 10 weeks without any bleeding/ spotting was beginning to feel like a very lonely place, I was beginning to think I was a freak and the only one, now I know better. Honestly, until I started doing my own research, my lonliness was my excuse for being hopeful, some brutal reality is probably just what I need before hearing the TRUTH tomorrow. *deep breath*
Favorite Vacation Spot: the Keys or Vegas A-Ha: leave the insanity of Vegas, fly to Marathon Key and relax for a few days, THEN come home (or not)
Pet Peeves: I doubt we have time for this one....
Ice Cream: Dove makes this ice cream with a chocolate gnosh on top now, different flavors, ALL UNBELIEVABLE!
I'm very thankful to have found so much helpful information from other informed women. It amazes me (between my personal experience with this and previous pregnancies as well as other women's stories) how little the medical field really does know. There are no certainties! That even though we put ourselves in their hands for knowledge and answers, that it's usually places like this that give the most of what I really want/ need to hear! Not to mention the voice of experience and compassion... something many medical professionals seem to be lacking these days. Thanks to you all!
Hopefully I completed the assignment successfully! Depending on my mood, I'll come back tomorrow to let everyone know the results.
