Hey how is everyone? It took me a while to get this thing going. I just have to get used to this new setup. Anyways it's been a crazy few days. My uncle recently passed away on Saturday of a heart attack- the family is in shock and not doing too well. I've been in a daze all weekend. After he passed my nana told me that God took her son but was replacing him with my baby. Well sure enough I went to the hospital yesterday and found out that I am having a boy. It was very bittersweet. My family has been wanting a boy for years. There are 19 grandkids in the family (i'm the oldest) and out of the 19 kids only 4 are boys. The youngest boy is 18 - so my family was extremely happy when I found out I was having a boy. It was just a weird feeling. We lost someone we loved and yet another boy is coming into the family. The baby looked so cute on the ultrasound. We could see his legs and feet. He's long already. I was reading in my book that the baby should be 5" by now - well my doctor told me yesterday that according to the ultrasound he's already 6 1/2" - can u belive that? I'm still in shock. Since I'm such a girly girl I have to get used to the idea that I'm having a son. My boyfriend was extremely happy. I made his Valentine's Day. He had a smile from ear to ear all day yesterday.
Betty - how are you doing??? Did you go to your appt yet? If so, how did everything go?
Kristi - How's the tummy?? Time flies. I'm already 17 wks and I know you're right behind me - you should be having your ultrasound soon too. Hope all is well
Talk to everyone soon - I hope everyone is doing okay.
Take Care - Nika

Nika - I am so sorry for your loss, but am so excited to hear that you are having a BOY! How cool is that! I am starting week 14 and go in 2 weeks to have anotehr ultrasound to measure my cervix, then again on March 17th to find out the sex! I am so excited! Have you come up with any names yet? If we have a boy we are thinking about Zachary Robert. The girl's name I have picked out was "stolen" by my "friend". I was pregnant this summer adn we love the name Alexandra Jay, when we lost the baby she became pregnant. She's 21 weeks and just found out its a boy too and she's naming him Alexander. If we have a girl I just may stick with Alex! I am beginning to show and bought some clothes this weekend. I am going to tell my students tomorrow, I've been sick and they are worried about me! Are you going to post on the other page at all? Talk to you soon! Kristi

Kristi had written to me in the other site to tell me u had news in here, but I had trouble finding your message cause it was moved into another folder. I really don't like this site and the way its set up with all the different topics. Please everyone, don't forget about me over 'there' cause thats probably where I"ll be most of the time. Betty

Hey ladies,
Thanks so much for your kind words. Losing my uncle has been tough on my family...especially my grandparents. But the way I see it he is in a better place and isn't suffering anymore. Besides he'll be my guardian angel and he'll look after me and the baby - I truely believe that.
As for the baby - I am excited that i'm having a boy. I just can't believe it! I smile like this ;D everyday!!! Well I told my boyfriend that if it was a boy he could name it and he wants the baby to have his name which is Cesar. I'm not crazy about it but oh well - a deal is a deal. If it was a girl I was goind to name it and if it was a boy he was to name it. Since we are latin (I'm Puerto Rican, he's Dominican) the baby will have a latin name. His name will be - Cesar Edwin Ortiz. Edwin is my uncle's name so I wanted to include that in my son's name.
My family is happy with our decision on the babys name. I just have to get used to the idea that I'm having a boy. I'm very happy and excited and can't wait to hold him in my arms.
Well ladies - how are you doing?? Keep me posted on whats going on in your lives. I agree with you Betty - I don't really like this site either. I prefer the other site where we can all gather and talk about whatever was on our minds that day. I don't liek how everything is split up into different categories. Keep in touch.

Nika - I am just so excited for you!!! I go in a week from tomorrow(Monday) to have another u/s to measure my cervix...I'm so excited to see the baby again! The THINK they may be able to let us know the sex then, I'll be 16 weeks. If not, we are scheduled for the 17th to find out. Jeff think's its a boy, and I am beginning to think that way too. I think pregnancies go in cycles and right now I know 3 women having boys, last summer it was the same thing. to everyone else who is from the other board...HI! Hope everythig is going well with you! Kristi
