It's been a while since I've been on the board. As you can tell from my signature, I suffered two BOs in a row back in 2009. Then I went on to have my second DS in 2011.
Well.....we now have an unplanned pregnancy. Our birth control method failed. And DH even had a vasectomy appt for next month. I got a positive pregnancy test on July 31. I have no idea when O'd, but I am a late O-er, so I would guess anywhere from CD 20 - 26 or so. Because I didn't know my dates and my history of m/c, I had a sono today. Sac is measuring 4 w, 6 d and looks fine for that age. There is nothing inside (which I guess can be normal). OB says it can go either way at this point. I go back in 2 weeks for another scan. I also had b/w for the first time today. I have definite pg symptoms - lots of nausea, sore bbs, etc. No spotting or bleeding at this point.
The range of emotions have been all over the place for me. We thought we were done, then I got a BFP, I've been on the fence about it for a week, then got excited and now I don't know what to feel. Of course now that I am past the chem pg phase (another issue of mine) I am concerned about a THIRD BO. What are the odds of that?

On paper the odds are low but it does happen. My advice to myself is wake up each day saying today I am pg and I will not worry about tomorrow. Your scan was way to early to see anything most pg including my last are not visible until 7 wks and some after that. Please keep us updated. I am crossing everything I can for you.

The way my doctor explained it was, with every pregnancy its a roll of a 5 sided dice. 4/5 chance things will be ok, but if you roll those 1/5 twice in a row, its chance. I think I read somewhere that having 2 miscarriages in a row only increases the average odds by a couple percent. Try and keep positive, and busy until your second scan.
