I had what I think was a blighted ovum a long time ago but the whole thing was very traumatic. I felt pregnant, was about 7 weeks, could feel a uterus (I am retreverted so it is detectable earlier) and I had a positive HCG. We had always wanted another baby but had decided we couldn't afford it. Trouble was, it was 5 years after a ligation. I must say I was quite excited, after getting over the whole feeling of how we would manage etc. The whole feeling pregnant thing started going away and about 5 days later I started spotting and passed a golfball sized gelatinous thing, no baby, but it was definitely round and hollow, but thick about 0.5 cm thick. I had no pain, and the blood loss wasn't as bad as a period. My Ob said it was probably a blighted ovum, but nowhere I have seen describes it like this. I went through a depression some months later and in retrospect it would have been the time when the baby was born. Your other posts describe a thin stringy thing. Mine was thick, and almost rubbery, but definitely round and hollow. Sorry about the vivid description, but it's been 16 years since this happened. I have moved on, but it's like it's still a part of me that I lost, and I still wonder if I just imagined it. I am a nurse and I have seen miscarriages and they didn't look like this.

I bled very heavy but I was 13 wks when I was diagnosed but when I passed the sac it was like what you are describing. Most of us also lost our pg symptoms at some point during our lost pg. It does sound like my loss just without the heavy bleeding and pain. Even thogh it was a long time ago I am sorry for your loss. It has been 10 years since my first loss and I never really got over it. Each woman on here experienced their loss differently physically and emotionally to me it sounds like a BO and I know it sucks when you can never really get answers.

I also bled very heavily....took medication to help and still ended up anemic. I passed something very thick and long that had a stringy like look to it but I don't recall whether or not it was hollow. I did experience a lot of labor like systems and was 14 weeks along when it happened.
My loss was just over 7 years ago.....and I will always feel that loss!!!
Take Care!

What you described is similar to what I passed. I am guessing I was at 7 or 8 weeks. The u/s showed the sac at 6wk4days but it was empty and I passed the mass over a week later with a lot of bleeding and ended up in the ER. It looked almost like two circles merged together and was about golf ball size and looked rubbery. I didn't do a lot of investigating as I was in a public restroom and was pretty traumatized. I am still sad and frustrated (trying to get the all clear to be done with this part) and I am pretty sure I will be until I have a healthy baby in my arms someday.

I passed a large rubbery mass with my BO however it was Not hollow. But it was for sure round hard rubbery mass and was decent sized. I had heavy bleeding and quite a Bit of pain though.

I am so sorry that you didn't have the information or support during that time. When I passed my first blighted ovum it was a thin rubbery sac. This time I passed a teardrop shaped solid tissue mass. I was also further along this time. I am so sorry for your loss and even after all these years I hope you find a place of comfort.
