Hi Ladies,
a friend of mine has PCOS and just had her first IVF cycle 2 weeks ago. Her test today was negative and she is really down. Does anyone know if there is a board like ours specifically for women with PCOS undergoing IVF? I'd like to send her some more help, other than the email I just sent her.
Really puts everything into perspective for me though... When I had my bo last September, I went to a counselor and she said, "the good news is, you got pg". I wanted to jump into her face at that point, because I figured, "well, if I hadn't gotten pg, I wouldn't have to deal with the loss and grief now, would I?" But I certainly wouldn't want to trade with my friend now... and interestingly enough, I am almost grateful now that I had the bo last year, because I feel that it's made me a more sensitive and more appreciating person overall. I don't know if I knew what to say to her if I hadn't experienced the loss.
Okay, just rambling now... thanks for any help with anything I could do for my friend.
Hugs, t.

T -
Yes, there is a board for women with PCOS. It's through the "Soul Cysters" website. I'm not sure of the exact web address, but if you google it, you should find it. I was diagnosed with PCOS in November, 2005, just after I got pg with my BO (but did not know it). The good news is, with proper treatment (Metformin, properly controlled diet, Folic acid), I had a successful pg, and many women do.
