Me and my wife have recently found out that our pregnancy will end in miscarriage. We have done two rounds of blood work with hcg dropping. Two sets of u/s the first showing fetal pole at 6 weeks and no hb. The last one was done yesterday and it showed a empty sack with no fetal pole. The sack was measuring at 9 weeks. My wife stopped taking her oral progesterone yesterday afternoon. This is our first miscarriage and really do not know what to expect. How long before she starts spotting and the process starts? If anyone out there can help we would love to hear any advice and what others have gone through. Thank you everyone

I'm very sorry for your loss! It's hard to know exactly when she will miscarry, as it is different with each one. It's a good sign that her levels are dropping, because that means her body is realizing the pregnancy isn't going to continue. With my natural Miscarriages, I started bleeding between 8-10 weeks. With my first one, once the bleeding started it continued to get heavier and was pretty painful until I passed the gestational sac 2 days later. Once I passed the sac, the bleeding and pain lightened up a bit and it became more like a period. With my second natural miscarriage I started spotting around 10 weeks. I spotted lightly for a couple days, then had a sudden gush that didn't stop. Thankfully I was already in the hospital visiting someone otherwise I might have not made it. I needed and emergency D&C to stop the bleeding. The main things to watch for, is that once the bleeding starts, she shouldnt fill More than a pad every hour. Go to the hospital immediately if she bleeds too heavily. These boards have gotten very slow, so I'm sorry of you don't get many responses. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions! carlsangel18@hotmail.com Again, I am very sorry for the loss! ~Hannah~
